Thomas Schmidinger (1974, Feldkirch, Austria) is a political scientist as well as social and cultural anthropologist. He teaches at the University of Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, works mostly on the Middle East, and is the general secretary of the Austrian Association for Kurdish Studies. His recent publications include „Die Welt hat uns vergessen“ – Der Genozid des „Islamischen Staates“ an den JesidInnen und die Folgen (2019) and Sudan – Unvollendete Revolutionen in einem brüchigen Land (2020).
