The pandemic brought a host of concrete changes, even the abstractions we use will never be the same again; in fact, some preconceptions of them might have shifted forever. In her intervention in the local newspaper Kleine Zeitung (Styrian edition), Sung Tieu conceives obituaries for precisely those abstract terms that have undergone irreversible changes over these last months of instability. These half-page ads make use of conventional newspaper typography but are actually hand drawings. They create a contrast to the computer-generated graphics and statistics usually deployed to explain the present crisis in the media.
