As in the past two years, we would like to take a closer look at and discuss individual artworks with you while trying out different perspectives. Although we can’t offer tours to artworks at various locations in Graz this year, we do invite you to join us for lively conversations at the large shared table via Zoom.
John Smith is famous for short films offering incisive commentary on the world at large from the confines of his home (or hotel room). His most recent films combine fragments from Boris Johnson’s sometimes grotesque speeches about the virus with glimpses of everyday life, be they of Smith washing his hands or window views of the London skyline.
Bio
Julia Robin (1995, Klagenfurt, Austria) studied art history with a focus on modern and contemporary art. She is currently working on her master’s thesis on the topic of painting in Minimal Art and is pursuing further training in the field of art and culture education. She lives in Graz.
Johannes Wally (1978, Vienna, Austria) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of English Studies at the University of Graz. His research specifically focuses on the intersection of literature and worldview(s) in contemporary Anglophone literatures. Wally is the author of two academic monographs and two books of fiction. He has received several prizes and scholarships for his academic and artistic work.
