Social distancing, compulsory masks, and sanitary measures are only the latest additions to a labyrinth of regulations and laws by which we live, and which govern the theater and all of the other arts as well. Alexander Chernyshkov and his team set out to create a new form of immersive experimental musical theater that reflects upon these conditions. They combine vocal-instrumental compositions, legal texts, and literary references to draw attention to the usually unnoticed elements of theatrical space, creating a new awareness of the stage itself. In this engrossing experience, conventions and regulations become visible, in all their absurdity, but also in their strange logic and necessity.
